In the 1980s she began her acting career and gained notoriety as Siobhan Ryan's character on the soap opera of the day Ryan's Hope between 1982 and 1986. Catherine Willows is her most known role in CBS's crime procedural drama. Crime Scene Investigation 2000-13 and Immortality 2015, the television film that followed. The role was reprised in Immortality's sequel Vegas (2022-present). Helgenberger is also known as the character K.C. She received the Emmy Award in 1990 for Outstanding supporting actress in a Drama Series as a result of her performance as Koloski on the ABC series China Beach from 1988 to 1991.
